Favorite Foto Friday
This photo is from our friend’s wharf at Long Cove in St. George, Maine. I took it at the begining of the summer last year with my Droid (hence the reason the quality is so poor.)
However, I still think it’s an awesome pic. I love how calm the water is and how it’s a mirror of the boats and the sky above.
I have a thing with the ocean, as you can probably tell by the fact that a majoirty of my favorite foto shots are taken of it. I greatly respect it and love that it is one thing that man cannot control. It has the ability to be mirror calm, like so, or rough as hell warning any that try and charter her waters. It has always been and always will be. It is not emotional, it is life. It just…is.
This week, with the holiday and the beautiful weather, I have been a little sadden by the lack of time I will be spending in the lake and on the ocean in the midcoast this summer. It was home to many fun summers spending as much time as possible outdoors, and at the very quarry up the road from where this photo is taken.
Ah, but time changes and we must all grow up, a little bit at least. With my new direction in life, I’m finding a lot of my passion and energy is being put into writing and my social media and pr endeavors. I’m finding it easier to deny the temptation of going home and spending a lazy, sun-filled day in the midcoast.
I am thoroughly enjoying my summer here in Portland as well. I had an amazing week full of unique Portland, MAINE adventures and I wouldn’t trade them for the world!
But when I look at the landscape photos of home, I can’t help but smile and reminisce and smirk in how oblivious I was growing up to just how unbelievably beautiful the coast of Maine is.

Agreed – an awesome pic and the “poor” quality actually creates as impressionistic aura and ergo a great quality.
The ensuing comments re the ocean, the midcoast, growing up, and present day life are also impressive. LWL
