A peek behind JCrew
Another fun little design blog I stumbled upon recently was the “underground” JCrew blog, “770 Behind the Line,” that gives up behind the scenes fashion tid bits from the quintessential yo-pro (young professional) retail store.
The name cleverly comes from the address of the JCrew headquarters in New York City.
Check out the clean cut posts that exhibit different inspirations from around the world, what the JCrew-ers of today think is trending and personal touches of the J Crew team.
While I would say the blog definitely needs some work, namely more content, I am intrigued by any business, especially a big business like JCrew, that puts forth an effort to add a little bit of transparency and personal touch to their image, as if to say, ‘Hey, we’re people, too!’ An approach that many companies would be wise to take on post the Wall Street collapse.
