New Music Monday: Dax Riggs
A week from today, I will be leaving LA and headed for San Fransisco! Unbelievable. I’ve been told I need to go to San Fransisco for quite some time now. Further, two of my closest friends are currently living in and loving San Fran.
A few weeks back, Mary, one of my San Fran buddies who also happens to have an excellent taste in music shared some Dax Riggs clips with me. After a quick listen and fully trusting Mary’s taste in music, I instantly bought the ‘Say Goodnight to the World’ album on iTunes. It has been the soundtrack to my walks from work almost every day since. I highly recommend you do the same.
‘Sleeping With the Witch’ was the first song Mary told me to check out by Dax as it was one of her favorites. While I’m really into the whole album, I like this track a lot too.
His songs, though a little dark at times, are all very calming. They all just kind of transcend me into a relaxed state.
Dax is from Louisiana. While I’ve never been to New Orleans, or Louisiana for that matter, his music seems to be very reminiscent of that dark, mysterious, voodoo culture that seems to exist there. Calming and yet, spooky. I love it!
