New Music Monday: Voxtrot
As my iTunes music selection is ALL over the place the music the iTunes store suggests me to give a try is often a little whack. However, a few months back it recommended Voxtrot and I instantly fell in love with the 2005 “Raised by Wolves” album.
I love the slower tune, “Long Haul,” but the song “The Start of Something” has a catchy, upbeat tune that makes for good plugging in and zoning out from the day-to-day and is most appropriate in correlation to my current vacation state.
The song is a great feel-good jam that still catches me tapping my toes and/or walking that much more enthusiasm to work. It’s the perfect soundtrack to the past few sunny days in LA. While the city is in a nonstop momentum forward, the beautiful weather has an unbelievable ability to pull you out of it all. This song can similarly do the same thing.
The Austin, Texas indie/pop band, is actually no longer creating music. When digging around the web trying to find some more info about the band and whether or not they had more then just the one CD, I came across this letter.
Apparently the group, which formed in 2003, called a quits in 2010. Though unfortunate to learn, the letter by the singer/songwriter Ramesh was intriguing and refreshing.
